JavaScript Bootcamp Summer Edition

JAVASCRIPT BOOTCAMP SUMMER EDITION

We are delighted to share the results of our recent JavaScript Bootcamp, which was successfully hosted by Bitrock and SheTech, a non-profit organization whose mission is to bridge the gender gap in STEM.

Over the course of a few years, our partnership has grown and each occasion has reinforced our commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity in the IT industry.

The bootcamp was held at the beautiful Talent Garden in Milan, which seamlessly combines modern facilities with a vibrant environment that encourages networking and learning. In between intense coding sessions, participants were able to relax with some well-earned downtime and even a ping-pong match.

Focusing on JavaScript for Beginners

With a focus on JavaScript, the bootcamp was designed for those with no previous coding experience. We designed the material with the aim of making it accessible to everyone, regardless of background, by requiring no prior technical knowledge. The wide range of attendees, the majority of whom were unfamiliar with JavaScript, demonstrated this inclusivity.

Thanks to the fantastic advice provided by our mentors, the participants quickly picked up the basics of JavaScript, despite their initial lack of knowledge. Throughout the bootcamp, their perseverance and commitment was crucial in helping participants learn the basics and develop their skills.

An Engaging and Effective Learning Experience

By using a dynamic and interactive method, participants were able to put what they had learned into practice immediately, reinforcing their new skills. It was very satisfying to see how quickly participants and mentors progressed during the sessions.

High Participation and Positive Impact

With over 50 participants, this edition of the bootcamp was one of our most attended and lively events in partnership with SheTech. The high level of participation is a testament to the success of our outreach initiatives and the growing interest in coding.

We have no doubt that many of the participants will find this bootcamp an invaluable introduction to the field of software development, leading to new career opportunities and stimulating lifelong learning.

Bootcamp Wraps Up with Fun and Feedback

As is our tradition, the event ended with an awards ceremony: the three most entertaining Instagram stories posted by participants during the bootcamp were recognized and awarded.

This was followed by a feedback session where participants shared their ideas and opinions. These observations are very helpful to us as we can use them to improve our next camps and make them as interesting, fun and educational as possible.

Gearing Up for What’s Next

We are incredibly proud of the success of this JavaScript bootcamp and grateful to all the participants, mentors and of course our partner for making it possible. Our collaboration with SheTech continues to be a cornerstone of our efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. We look forward to organizing more bootcamps and other events in the future.
