Waterstream is an MQTT broker that uses Apache Kafka as its sole persistence and distribution system. This integration allows MQTT clients to connect directly to the Kafka ecosystem, eliminating the need to manage external MQTT clusters or develop integration pipelines to transfer data from devices to topics.

Companies can thus consolidate MQTT data streams (coming from the IoT world, for example) by exploiting Kafka’s robust architecture, facilitating real-time processing and access to data, and guaranteeing efficient scalability for their applications.
